Erling Braut Haaland Crowned Bundesliga Player Of The Month Of January 2020.

Erling Braut Haaland has won the January Bundesliga Player of the Month and won the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month after a sensational performance for Borrusia Dortmund since after completing his €20 million move to the German side a couple of days before the January 2020 transfer window.


Haaland received the award in his first month Bundesliga, after he came off the bench on his debut for the BlackYellow side against FC Augsburg and scored a hat-trick to help BVB turn things around in a 5-3 win. His second appearance a week later also came as a substitute at home to 1. FC Köln, this time scoring a brace.

CloudNine Sports understand that, the former Molde and Red Bull Salszburg player had become the second player in Dortmund history to score three goals in their Bundesliga debut, after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The 19-year-old Norwegian striker, went on to crown the award with a goal in their Bundesliga fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt on Friday night, in a match which ended 4-0 in favour of Lucien Favre men at the Signal Iduna Park, with goals from Piszczek, Sancho, Haaland and Querreiro.



Haaland who has now become the first player in history, to score 8 goals in his first 5 Bundesliga appearances for Borrusia Dortmund says via his Instagram handle;

Only eight players have scored more German Bundesliga goals than Erling Håland (8) in the 2019/20 season, with Robert Lewandoski topping the highest goal scorers chart with 22 goals, Timo werner (20) and teammate Jason Sancho (13) are in second and third place respectively.

Borrusia Dortmund are currently on second place in the Bundesliga table, with 42 pionts after Friday game and are just one piont behind table toppers Bayern Munich who has 43 points, until they play their match on Sunday away to 1.Fc Köln.
