Cristiano Ronaldo Appreciates Making His 1000th Appearance As a Football Player.

Cristiano Ronaldo on Sunday, featured in his 1000 career games for Juventus, in one of the biggest games in the Italian club football, against Inter Milan.



The match which saw Juventus host Inter Milan at the Allianz staduim in Turin was played behind closed doors, due to the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy with reports claiming that some 366 people in the country have died of deadly virus, with 7,375 infected.

Ronaldo was seen through a video footage, arriving the venue coming out of the teams coach, and pretend to be shaking the hands of imaginary fans, where the banned fans would have been standing on the way into the stadium. With all sports in Italy are currently going to be played in empty grounds until 3rd April at least.

The match on the night ended 2-0 with Maurizio Sarri's men getting the desired victory to remain top of the SerieA table.

Juventus took the lead when Aaron Ramsey broke the deadlock 9 mins into the second half, scoring his third league goal of the season, having collected a loose ball in the box and fired in from close range with the help of a slight deflection off Stefan De Vrij.

Paulo Dybala sealed the victory for the hosts with a delightful finish of some nice footwork, converting a pass from Ramsey.

The victory for Juventus leaves them first in the league standings with 63 points after 26 games and 1 point above second place team Lazio.

Antonio Conte's title challenge with Inter, seems to have been jeopardized after the defeat to their rivals, as the Milan club now sit in third place, nine points below Juventus and a game on hand.

Cristiano Ronaldo put up a sensational performance on the night, as he played his 1000 official career games.

The 35-year-old, was looking forward to create history as the first player to score in 12 consecutive games in Italy, but failed to score for the first time in SerieA since 10th November.

His 11-game league scoring streak which is a joint record with Gabriel Batistuta and Fabio Quagliarella comes to an end.


Ronsldo expressed his gratitude, after the match via his social media page saying:
"So proud to reach 1000 official games in my career with a very important victory that put us on the top of the table again!
Thank you to all my teammates, coaches, my family and friends and to my fans that helped me to reach this great achievement."


The 5 times Balon D'or winner has scored 725 goals and 252 assists in his 1000 career appearance, scoring 626 club goals and 99 goals for Portugal, winning 31 trophies.

In his 18 seasons of club football, he has played across 4 countries in Europe, 31 appearance for Portuguese club Sporting CP, 292 games for Manchester United, 438 games for Spanish side Real Madrid and currently 75 games for Juventus, 164 caps for his national team.

The Portugal captain, joins six other Legendary footballers to have made 1000 appearances in the beautiful game, which are;
Paolo Maldini (Italy), Javier Zanetti (Argentina), Raul (Spain), Xavi (Spain), Gianluigi Buffon (Italy), Roberto Carlos (Brazil).
