Manchester United Cruise To Another Victory At The Manchester Derby.

Manchester United on Sunday defeats Manchester City 2-0 in the Manchester derby at Old Trafford.


The match ended 2-0 in favour of the reds at full-time, with Anthony Martial scoring the first goal on the night having converted a free kick from Bruno Fernandes in the 30th minute, and second half substitute Scott McTominay netted the second at the last minute of the game at the Theatre dreams.


The victory, gives Ole Gunnar Solskjaer men a league double over Manvhester City for the first time since the 2009/10 season (10 years) under former manager Sir Alex Ferguson.

United had earlier in the season travelled to the Etihad Staduim to defeat Pep Guardiola's smen 2-1, with Rashford and Martial getting the goals for United last December.

Manchester City have never lost a game in the month of March since the 2015/16 season, and the last time they lost a game in March was against this same Manchester United under Loius Van Gaal.

The result for United takes them to 5th in the Premier League standings with 45 points, 3 points behind Chelsea who are sitting fourth.

Meanwhile Manchester City remain second on the standings with 57 points, now increasing the gap between them and run away league leaders Liverpool to 25 points.

Liverpool who before the result of the Manchester derby needed just 9 points (3 more wins) to be crowned champions, now needs just 6 points (2 wins) to be officially winners of the 2019/20 Premier League season.
