Italian Government, Brings All Sporting Activities In The Country To A Halt.

The Italian government have reached a decision to halt all sporting a activities in the country until April, in fear of the massive spread of the deadly Coronavirus.


The Italian Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte signed the bill into law, after the Italian Olympic Committee (CONI) had earlier decreed for all sports to be temporary suspended on the basis that Human health should be a top priority for everyone.

This includes all matches in the domestic legues including the Serie A, but will not affect the international competitions such as the Champions League, which will be played behind closed doors.

Acccording to several reports, Italy has been the European country with the most harmful  spread of the virus so far, with over 7,000 confirmed cases and 300 deaths so far.

5 matches on Sunday in the SerieA was played without the fans in attendance.

Reigning champions Juventus are currently on top of the league standings with 63 points, one piont above Lazio who are second and 9 points ahead of third place team Inter Milan, with twelve round of matches yet to be played to conclude the season.
