Barcelona Legend, Xavi Hernandez and His Wife Nuria Donates Huge Sum To The Hospital Clinic In Barcelona.

Barcelona legend Xavi Hernández, and his wife Núria Cunillera have donated the sum of one million euros to the Hospital Clinic in Barcelona to support the fight against Coranavirus pandemic.


The donation was made at the same hospital in which Barcelona captain Lionel Messi and Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola made their donations days ago.

Xavi Hernández family joined the campaign started by the Clinic with the hashtag #responsecoronavirus to raise funds, at a time of crisis in which in addition to the problem of infections and deaths from the COVID-19 crisis, is also manifested as they are in need of medical materials.


The Hospital Clinic made the official announcement today, with Xavi and his wife speaking via a video footage on the Hospital Clinic's twitter handle;
"Nuria and I support the fight against the coronavirus at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona. Xavi Hernández who is regarded by many to be the greatest Spanish footballer ever, won the first ever World Cup for Spain in 2010, and also won the Euro 2008 and 2012, before his retirement from the national team, shortly after they had crashed out from the group stage of the 2014 Fifa World Cup in Brazil.

The 40-year-old, retired officially from professional football last May, and was appionted almost immediately to be the manager of Qatar's  Al-Sadd.

He has in recent months been linked to be the next manager of Barcelona, where he played his major football.
