Odion Ighalo Names Three Manhester United Players That Has Helped Him Adapt To Life Quickly In His Short Stay At Old Trafford

Manchester United on-loan striker Odion Ighalo has revealed three players that helped him adapt to life quickly at Old Trafford.

The former Nigerian international has thrived under various criticism surrounding his loan move to the theatre of dreams in February until the end of the season from Chinese league side Shanghai Shenhua.

After three substitute appearances, Ighalo has scored four goals in eight appearances across all competitions since his full debut against Club brugge for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

Ighalo's sensational strike against Austrian side LASK was voted the United goal of the month for March, which he also claimed has been his best goal ever.

The award-winning goal, coupled with a later assist for Daniel James in the same match, earned him a place in the Europa League Team of the Week.

The former Granada striker who turned down a move to the La Liga to join Barcelona early last year, has revealed that United midfielder Juan Mata, and goalkeepers David de Gea and Sergio Romero have helped him enjoy life in his short stay at Manchester United.

Speaking to the United fans during an Instagram live ina question and answer session, he was asked which players he felt closest to which he answered saying;
“I have a lot of guys there who have helped me, all the guys in the dressing room are very good guys"

“The first time I stepped my feet in that dressing room – wow. There are three players that took me and made me feel welcome and comfortable.

“After three days, we started living like brothers, like I have been there for five years, laughing together and cracking jokes together.

“Especially Juan Mata, De Gea, and the other goalkeeper, Romero, because they speak Spanish, and I speak Spanish.”

The 30-year-old longer term future remains unclear, though United could pursue a permanent deal for the Nigerian international, something which he’d love to and not minding collecting a pay-cut to continue living his dream at his boyhood club.
