Barcelona And Juventus Confirms The Swap Deal Between Midfielders Arthur Melo And Miralem Pjanić
Spanish gaints FC Barcelona and Italian gaints, have both confirmed that they have reached an agreement on Monday for the swap-deal of both midfielders Arthur Melo and Miralem Pjanić.
According to Sky in Italy, Arthur was offered significantly more in salary in Juve than at Barcelona, worth £4.5m a year following his travel to Turin on Saturday night just hours after playing as a late subtitute for Barca against Celta Vigo in La Liga, before flying back to Catalonia to resume training on Monday ahead of Barca's clash at home against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday.
The deal was also coordinated with a swap of Juventus midfielder Miralem Pjanić, who will also move to the La Liga next season.
Arthur arrived at FC Barcelona in the summer of 2018 from Brazilian club side Grêmio, and has played a total of 72 games, scoring 4 goals in all competitions for Barca, winning two titles; the La Liga title and the Spanish Super Cup last season.
While Miralem Pjanić joined Juventus in there summer of 2016 on a five-year contract from fellow Italian club side Roma.
He has played a total of 171 games, and scored 22 goals for Juve so far across all competitions, winning three Serie A titles, two Coppa Italia and one Super Coppa Italiana with the side.
Barcelona currently sit second in La Liga, two points behind league-leaders Real Madrid through 32 matches.
Juventus, meanwhile, still maintain a four-point lead over Lazio in Serie A table ahead of Wednesday's clash with Genoa.
Juventus reportedly paid €72 million, plus €10 million in variables for the 23-year old Brazilian who has agreed to a five-year contract with the Old Ladies.
Arthur Melo who had hoped to stay at FC Barcelona and fight for his place under manager Quique Setien, is now set to remain at the club until the end of official competition in the 2019/20 season, before moving to the Serie A at the start of next season.

Barcelona paid a €60 million initial fee with €5million add-ons and €400 million release clause for the 30-year old Bosnia-Herzegovina international on a deal until 2024.
