The 2010 World Cup winner had extended his contract as coach of the Al Sadd club by one-year earlier this month, despite being linked to take up the managerial role at his boyhood club Barcelona whom he turned down an offer from Catalan club last January.

He recently told the Madrid Sports newspaper Marca in a interview published on Tuesday, that "his primary goal” is to manage Barcelona, where he won a host of titles, but he’s concentrated on his current work.
“I do not hide, and I have always said, that my primary goal, when it happens, is Barca. It’s my home and would be a dream,” He said.

Xavi has now returned to his luvly family and his job.

He had handed over to the reserve coach who managed the team for their first return league game on Saturday against Al-Khor which they won 2-1.

The victory takes them to third in the league standings with 35 points, and 8 pionts behind league leaders Al-Duhail.

Xavi played for Al Sadd from 2015 to 2019 before his retirement, and was retained as coach h of the side.

He won the Super Cup and Qatar Cup with Al-Sadd in his first season.
