PSG defeats Lyon To Win The Last Coupe de la Ligue Trophy.

Paris Saint-Germain has completed the domestic quadruple for the fourth time in six seasons.

The Parisian defeated Lyon 6-5 on penalties to win the 26th edition and last Coupe de la Ligue (French League Cup) trophy, following a 0-0 scoreline at the end of extra time on Friday night.

PSG keeper Keylor Navas saved Bertrand Traore kick after 10 successful penalties, before Pablo Sarabia scored the winning kick, which handed PSG the title in front of 5,000 fans at the Stade de France.

Thomas Tuchel's men were without playmaker Mbappé, who is recovering from an ankle ligament injury he sustained in the Coupe de France final against Saint-Ètienne last weekend.

This would be the final domestic quadruple in French football history, as the Coupe de la Ligue which began in the lastest format in 1994 have now been cancelled this season, with PSG emerging the highest winners of the title 9 times.

PSG have won all competition they have been involved in this season, which includes the Ligue 1, the Coupe de France, Coupe de la Ligue, and the Trophee des Champions.

They are still on course of winning a quintuple, as they will face Italian side Atalanta in the quater-final of the Champions League on August 12 in Lisbon.
