Cesc Fabregas Would Support Arsenal To Defeat Chelsea In The FA Cup Final On August 1.

Cesc Fabregas has admitted that he'd rather see Arsenal defeat Chelsea in the London clubs FA Cup final on August 1.

Fabregas who currently plays for French side Monaco, featured for both Arsenal and Chelsea during his playing days in the Premier League.

The 33-year-old won the FA Cup with his former sides, first was under Arsene Wenger's Arsenal in 2005 and then under Antonio Conte's Chelsea in 2018.

2017 was the last time both London clubs had met in the FA Cup final, and Arsenal were crowned champions for a record 13th time, after a 2-1 victory against Chelsea at Wembley.

The trophy was their third major honour of the decade (10-years), a period in which Chelsea emerged the most successful English club, after winning an impressive major 11 trophies which includes the 2019 Europa Cup title.

The Blues defeated Arsenal 4-1 at the Olympic Stadium in Baku to win their second UEFA Europa League title.

Fabregas told the Daily Telegraph in an interview, that he would rather support Mikel Arteta's men over Frank Lampard's men to win the 2019/20 FA Cup title, because Arsenal needs the trophy more.

"My heart belongs to both clubs. I know it sounds politically correct but it is what I feel. When I was with Arsenal, I never believed I could feel what I did towards Chelsea. But this is the beauty of football and this is what happened with me"

"Arsenal need it more. Chelsea basically every year has won a trophy, so it's a different animal in this case... Said the Spaniard.

"In terms of trophies, Arsenal needs it more and for confidence for next year and getting into Europe. Chelsea are in the Champions League and Arsenal has nothing at the moment."

Mikel Arteta and Frank Lampard will be hoping to lift their first managerial title in an empty Wembley Stadium on Saturday.

Unlike last year's final which Manchester City defeated Watford 6-0, this game is very hard to call.

Arsenal knocked-out reigning champions Man City 2-0 in the semi-final, While Chelsea defeated Manchester United 3-1 to set up a London Derby clash at the final.
