Tottenham Star Eric Dier Have Been Banned For four Matches And Fined £40,000.

Tottenham midfielder Eric Dier has been given a four-match ban with immediate effect by the English FA.

Dier was banned following his dramatic actions of jumping into the crowd to confront an abusive Tottenham Hotspur fan which occurred after Spurs have been knocked out in the fifth-round of the FA Cup at home by Norwich through a penalty shootout on March 4.

The England international, claimed that his actions was just to "protect" his youngest brother Patrick who had been embroiled in an argument with a fan after the game, aa he was restrianed by other fans and securities.

Dier has also been fined £40,000 for breaching FA Rule E3, and was warned over his future conduct by the Football Association.

The 26-year-old has been very vital in Jose Mourinho's squad since the season resumed last month, and with Tottenham having only five games remaining to conclude the season, Dier's season is considered to have ended.

He would miss the games against Bournemouth (a), Arsenal (h), Newcastle (a) and Leicester City (h).

A statement from the FA reads; "Eric Dier has been suspended for four matches with immediate effect, fined £40,000 and warned as to his future conduct following a breach of FA Rule E3,"

“An independent Regulatory Commission subsequently found Eric Dier’s actions to be threatening.”

Tottenham are currently in eighth position in the league standings with 48 points, and 11 points behind making a Champions League spot in which they were finalist last year.
