Xavi Hernandez Is Ready To Reunite With Barcelona Next Season As A Replacement For Manager Quique Setien.

Barcelona legend Xavi Hernandez has reportedly agreed to replace Quique Setien as the new manager of the Spanish giants.




The Spaniard Xavi is ready to reunite with his former team Barcelona next season as a manager.

According to Mundo Deportivo’s Francesc Aguilar, the Barcelona star Xavi agrees to a £5.4million-a-year deal to return to the Camp Nou next season to replace present manager Quique Setien.

Setien '61', has been under intense pressure and criticism since replacing Ernesto Valverde in January, and now there are speculations that the club’s board have already decided to sack him in order to make way for Xavi.

Barcelona have suffered a lack of form, and have failed to secure maximum points to maintain their previous lead held over arch-rivals Real Madrid.

The Catalans have won 3 games and 3 draws in 6 matches since the resumption of the La Liga due the coronavirus lockdown break. They are now four points behind in the race for the La Liga title, with five more games to go.

CloudNine Sports understands that club captain Lionel Messi and some other squad players are having issues with Setien, who has failed to win over the dressing room.

The legendary Spanish midfielder who currently manages Al-Sadd in Qatar, originally turned down an offer from his boyhood club in January, before the Barca board finally decided to appoint of Setien to succeed Valverde.

Xavi '40', began his playing career as a child at Barcelona, and made 767 first-team appearances for club, scoring 85 goals with 182 assists.

He also won eight league titles, four Champions Leagues, three Copas del Rey, as well as two Club World Cups and the Fifa World Cup with Spain national team during his time at Barcelona.
