Man United Set To Complete The Signing Of Alex Telles And Edinson Cavani Before Monday's International Transfer Deadline

Manchester United have reached an agreement to sign Alex Telles from FC Porto for a reported fee of £13.6m, with a further £1.8m in add-ons.

The 27-year-old Porto star, has been one of the three names on top of the United list who are desperate in the search of a full-back before the transfer window ends on Monday night, October 5.

They have earlier loosed out on Tottenham's new signing and Spanish left-back Sergio Regulion who was one of the names included in the United list because of the buy-out clause kept by Real Madrid regarding his transfer.

Alex Telles current contract with Porto was to expire next summer, but the Brazilian international will fly to have medicals tonight at Carrington and in the process sign a long-term contract with Red Devils.

This comes just hours before Telles was due to leave for Brazil to join up with his international team-mates ahead of games against Bolivia and Peru.

He made 49 appearances for Porto last season, scoring 13 goals, and creating 12 assists.

Meanwhile, this is not the only transfer United are on the verge of completing before the international transfer deadline day, as they have also reached an agreement to sign former PSG star Edinson Cavani who has been a free agent since leaving the French gaints at the end of last season.

The 33-year-old Uruguayan striker is due to sign a one-year contract worth around £250,000 a week, with the option to extend for a second year.

Having emerged a shocking transfer for the Old Trafford outfit, Source claim that the agents fees involved in landing Cavani are less than the £9m being reported, as the United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s looks to strengthen his forward line for the long season ahead.

If the transfer for Telles and Cavani becomes successful, they would be United’s second and third signing of the summer after Dutch midfielder Donny van de Beek joined earlier on from Ajax.

United are still also on the look of landing a winger this summer, and Lucas Ocampos is on the radar after the Red Devils failed in their bid to land top transfer target Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund, and Ousmane Dembele from Barcelona.

The Argentine winger Ocampos '26' has been with the Spanish club side Sevilla since 2019, and was part of the team that knocked-out United on their way to lifting the Europa League last season in Cologne.
