OFFICIAL: Man United Confirms The Signing Of Alex Telles From FC Porto.

Manchester United have officially confirmed the signing of Alex Telles from Portuguese club side FC Porto for a reported fee of €15million plus €3million in potential add-ons.


The 27-year-old left-back has signed a four-year contract, which will keep him at the at the Theatre of Dreams until June 2024 with an option to extend for a further year.

Alex Telles is an experienced player across Europe, having played in the UEFA Champions League for many years with his former clubs.

He joined Porto in July 2016 from Turkish club side Galatasaray, and made 195 appearances for the Portuguese gaints, scoring 26 goals and creating more than 50 assists over the past five seasons at the club.

The Brazilian international expressed his delight of joining the Red Devils on the transfer deadline day;

“To join a club with the prestige of Manchester United is a huge honour.... He told the club's website.

"You have to work hard to get to this moment in your career and now I am coming to this club, I can promise that I will give everything in my heart to be a success here.

“I won many trophies at FC Porto and I want to continue that at United. 

"The manager has a clear plan and direction for this team and I can’t wait to pull on the famous shirt.”


Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer also added:

“First and foremost, I welcome Alex to United. "He is a player we have been tracking for some time and his performances over the past few years are exactly what we are looking for. 

"He is a fighter and a winner and will add real determination and competition to the squad."


Alex Telles has won eight career club titles, which includes one Turkish Super Light, two Turkish Cups, one Turkish Super Cups, two Primeira Liga, one Portuguese Cup, and one Portuguese Super Cup.

Internationally, Telles have made just one cap for his country having just only recently received his first call-up in March 2019. He made his debut as a starter in a friendly game against Panama.
