Julian Nagelsmann And Brendan Rodgers In The Shortlist Of Candidates To Replace Mourinho At Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in search of a new manager, with Julian Nagelsmann and Brenda Rodgers being in the shortlist of candidates to take over the club's hot seat should they eventually sack under-fire boss Jose Mourinho at the end of the season.

The RB Leipzig and Leicester City managers have both emerged as top target by clubs chairman Daniel Levy, with the former opened to a move to the Premier League next season.

According to sources, it's likely that Mourinho will only last in his job until the summer unless there is a sudden improvement and positivity in form after reportedly loosing the dressing room, with some of the players growing increasely unhappy with his defensive tactics on the pitch of play compared to that of  former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Mourinho's Spurs team began the season in fine form, and at a time topped the Premier League table in December, but since then, they have been in mixed form with results not going their way in recent matches.

Tottenham minimum target under Mourinho this season, was qualifying for the 2021/22 Champions League campaign, but they currently sit eighth in the Premier League with 45 points, six points off a top four Champions League qualification spot.

The former Chelsea and Manchester United manager only hope right now of delivering a trophy for Tottenham, is to clinch the Carabao Cup title when they face Man City in the final on 25 April at the Wembley stadium.

They had been knocked-out in the 5th round of the FA Cup by Everton last month, and were also humiliated on Thursday night by Croatian side Dinamo Zagreb - crashing out of the Europa League 3-2 on aggregate, despite taking an initial two-goal lead in the first leg.
