Arsenal Reaches Agreement For Ben White Transfer From Brighton.

Arsenal have reportedly reach an agreement in principle with Brighton for Ben White transfer.

The England defender is seeking a new challenge and wants to move to Emirates, as no other rival club made an offer for him.

According to reports, Arsenal have seen previous bids of £40m and £47m rejected for White, but are now ready to get to get their primary target after reaching an agreement with Brighton, with the fee understood to be in the region of £50 million.

The transfer is subject to medical when White returns from the Euro holiday on July 26 ahead of the pre-season.

White joined Brighton shortly after being released by Southampton in 2014. And following loan spells at Newport County, Peterborough United and most notably Leeds United, he broke into the first team at the Amex Stadium last season and played a vital role as Brighton survive relegation last season finishing 16th.

His spectacular performance at the heart of Brighton defence saw him being selected by Gareth Southgate in the just concluded Euro 2020 tournament for England.

Despite featuring in warm-up matches against Austria and Romania, he did not make an appearance for the Three Lions who eventually lost to Italy in the final last Sunday.

White will become Arsenal's third most expensive signing in history after Nicolas Pépé (£72.00m), and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang (£57.38m).

The 23-year-old would bolster the defence for Mikel Arteta's side next campaign, after finishing the previous campaign eighth in the Premier League and missing out on European football for the first time since the 1994-95 season.

Arsenal are also close in announcing Albert Sambi Lonkonga's signing from Anderlecht in the next few days.

The 21-year-old Belgian midfielder Lokonga is under quarantine in London after a deal believed to be around £15m was agreed last week.
