OFFFICIAL: AS Roma Signs Tammy Abraham From Chelsea.

AS Roma have confirmed the signing of Tammy Abraham from Chelsea.

Tammy joins the Italian club on a permanent deal for €40m to be paid in installments plus €5m add ons with Chelsea having a buy-back clause valid from June 2023 for €80m.

He signed a five-year contract until June 2026, and would earn €4/5m salary net per season as he links up with Chelsea former boss Jose Mourinho at the Stadio Olimpico.

Abraham’s exit comes as no surprise having fallen out of favour in the Chelsea squad since the arrival of current manager Thomas Tuchel in January.

German duo Kai Havertz and Timo Werner are always ahead of Abraham in terms of playing time under Tuchel.

The arrival of £97.5m Belgian star Romelu Lukaku back to Chelsea for a second time, futher worsens the case for Abraham, who has now decided to exit the West London club and move to a team that will guarantee him regular playing time.

Despite his tough times at Chelsea, there were list of other clubs vying for the signature of the 23-year-old. The likes Arsenal, Westham, Atalanta, etc were rumored to be keen on pouncing on this advantage before the transfer window is closed.

The England international was given a chance under Frank Lampard to prove himself following successful loan spells at Bristol City and Aston Villa, and he went on to score 15 Premier League goals in the 2019/2020 seasons.

Tammy now depart his childhood club with 30 goals, 12 assists in 82 appearances across all competitions including winning the Champions League and UEFA Super Cup.
