The Super Eagles Touch Down Kumasi Ahead Of Big Clash Against Ghana (Photos/Videos).

The Super Eagles have arrived in Kumasi this morning ahead of the first-leg big away Jollof derby with the Black Stars of Ghana.



Nigeria is set to face Ghana on the 25th at the Baba Yara Stadium, and the return-leg four days later on the 29th of March at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja, in a very crucial World Cup qualifying play-off games.


The Confederation of African Football confirmed lady week that the Baba Yara stadium as the venue to host Ghana's crucial first leg encounter against Nigeria, instead of the initial Cape Coast stadium, stating it was unfit to host the game.


The winner of the double-header encounter is expected to pick one of Africa’s five tickets to the 22nd FIFA World Cup finals in Qatar, scheduled for November 14 to December 18 this year.


After their final training session at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja, the Nigerian team departed the country in the early hours of Thursday, March 24, 2022, from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja via a chattered Air Peace plane.

The players were accompanied by the technical crew led by Augustine Eguavoen, government officials and several members of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF).





A training session would be held by the Super Eagles at the Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi, Ashanti ahead of the crucial game on Friday at 7:30pm.



Ghana and Nigeria has met 56 times across all competitions. The Black Stars has won 25 while the Super Eagles wins 12 times, 19 games has ended in draw.

Playing Ghana away from home never really favoured Nigeria who has won just once, and lost 16 times, with six draws out of 23 games Ghana has hosted.



Nigeria have qualified for the past three editions of the World Cup and are tipped to make it to the fourth on a bounce if they defeat Ghana in the double-header games.

Ghana have made it to the World Cup three times on a trot 2006, 2010 and 2014 but missed out on the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
