The story of Leroy Sane this season at Bayern Munich has been full of ups and downs. He began off unimpressive, but appeared utterly revived after Julian Nagelsmann moved him to the left flank, but his form has subsequently dipped as Bayern has already claimed their ninth consecutive Bundesliga title.

"We always talk about potential and I want to see that on the pitch. The team expects Leroy to explode. He gets appreciation from all sides - and we want that back now."
In the past season and a half, Salihamidzic has noticed a maturation and development of mental toughness in Sane. He has been criticized in the past for having a bad attitude both on and off the field, as well as displaying petulance on the field when things don't go away, but he claims that is no longer the case.
Bayern could have fared better against Villarreal in the Champions League if he had been able to make more of an effect.
