Los Blancos thought they had scored the opening goal in the final minute of the first-half when Karim Benzema took advantage of a mix-up between Alisson Becker and Ibrahima Konate. The Frenchman rolled the ball into an empty net.

The initial goal stood but following a lengthy VAR review, it was cancelled for offside.
