Joe Aribo Is Determined To Stay At Rangers Despite Transfer Rumours

Despite speculations linking him with a move away from Rangers, Joe Aribo has expressed his desire to remain at the club.

The Nigerian international is approaching the end of his contract, and there have been speculations that the Gers may be willing to sell him during the transfer window rather than risk losing him on a free transfer next summer.

A reunion with his previous manager, Steven Gerrard, at Aston Villa is a possibility, while Patrick Vieira's Crystal Palace and Brentford are also said to be interested in signing the versatile midfielder.
Last season, Aribo had a successful stay at Ibrox.

Aribo played 70 matches, becoming the only player in Europe's top divisions to reach the mark in a single season, played 13 games for the national team and he was also present in every Rangers game as they navigated their way to reach the Europa League final.

Manager Giovanni Van Bronckhorst also used the gifted Nigerian in three different spots, as he won the Scottish Cup and scored in the UEFA Europa League final defeat to Eintracht Frankfurt.

Apart from his sensational performances, his flexibility in any given formation has made him a key figure at Rangers and in the Super Eagles team.

Aribo has claimed that he is not considering leaving the club.
“With all that stuff I don’t really read into it and I just focus on my football, because you can’t have distractions as it won’t allow you to play the best and be the best that you want to be,” the 25-year-old told BBC Sports.

“Which is obviously what I want to be every time I play. I just want to be focused and ready to go.”

Aribo has scored 26 goals and recorded 25 assists in 148 appearances since arriving Rangers from Charlton Athletic in 2019.

Despite his🔵ide losing the Scottish league diadem to Celtic and the Europa League to Bundesliga side Frankfurt, Aribo has no regrets. Instead, he is looking forward to what the new season holds.
