FC Barcelona To Announce Two New Signings By Weekend

The formal start of the 2022 summer transfer window was almost two weeks ago. FC Barcelona, a team that is often quite active in the market, has been unusually quiet these past several weeks.

Although the pre-season is due to start on July 4th, the Catalans cannot wait any longer to make any deals.

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has implemented a number of financial strategies to assist the Blaugranas in launching their enterprise.

The signings of Franck Kessie and Andreas Christensen by Barcelona are expected to be announced as soon as this weekend, according to reports from Mundo Deportivo.

Both players contracts is set to expire on Friday, making the following day their formal day of freedom.

The Catalans intend to make their signings public as soon as they formally terminate their contracts with their present teams. This will allow both players to integrate into the team chemistry before the pre-season, which begins on Monday.

Christensen comes to Camp Nou to strengthen the center-back unit, which had trouble toward the conclusion of the last campaign, Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet are almost completely left out of Xavi's plans, while Gerard Pique's readiness for the next season is in doubt.

Barcelona seriously needs to clear up debts, they need to bring in closer to €460 million, which will likely include the sale of an important player. Frenkie de Jong is the leading candidate for that position, with his move to Man United edging closer by the day.

With Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie set to improve Xavi's squad next season, the transfers such as those of Marcos Alonso and Cesar Azpilicueta, Jules Kounde and Robert Lewandowski will be much more difficult.
