Man United Has Made An Offer To Danish Playmaker Christian Eriksen.

Manchester United have joined the pursuit of Christian Eriksen as the out-of-contract midfielder weighs up his next move.

The Denmark international is a free agent after seeing out his short-term deal at Brentford.

According to multiple reports, Man United has offered Eriksen a contract as the playmaker considers his options this summer.

New United manager Erik ten Hag has made midfield his priority area in his first transfer window at Old Trafford, with Frenkie de Jong his leading target.

Both De Jong and Eriksen will help improve his squad and add creativity in the midfield which is an area where the club needs to strengthen, especially following the departure of Paul Pogba on a free transfer.

Now, if United do sign Eriksen, it will be rather surprising. Eriksen had previously turned a move to join the Red Devils back in 2019 when his contract was winding down at Spurs at the time.

He later joined Inter Milan in January 2020, but his contract was terminated in December 2021 as he was not permitted to play in the Serie A due to the presence of an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator he had implanted after suffering a cardiac arrest during a game at Euro 2020.

In July during the European Championships, Danish star Christian Eriksen collapsed on the pitch in the 42nd minute of the team's opening group stage match against Finland.

The match was halted and Eriksen was given medical treatment. He was diagnosed with cardiac arrest which led to Inter Milan terminating his contract because the Italian league doesn't allow playing with defibrillator. After 6 months he joined the premier league side, Brentford on a short-term deal.

Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle United are also reportedly both interested in signing Eriksen.

However, Sky Sports News reported that Brentford have offered Eriksen a long-term contract in their bid to keep him, with Thomas Frank repeatedly admitting he is confident the Danish midfielder will stay in west London.
