Yves Bissouma has completed a move to Tottenham in a deal which could rise to £35m; Spurs to pay an initial £25m with £10m in add-ons agreed with Brighton.

Bissouma had one year left on his Brighton contract and becomes Antonio Conte's third summer signing after goalkeeper Fraser Forster from Watford and Ivan perisic joined from Inter Milan earlier this month.

Tottenham manager, Conte was particularly impressed by Bissouma following his performances against Spurs last season.

The Brighton midfielder has signed a four-year deal for Spurs, subject to being granted a work permit.

According to reports, Spurs will pay an initial £25m for the Mali international, which will potentially rise to £35m with performance-related add-ons.

Yves Bissouma on completing his move told the club website in his first exclusive interview:

“I’m very happy to be here, happy to be a Spurs player and hopefully we’re going to have a good season,”

"I’m going to give everything to try to win every game, to stay at the top. But, as everyone knows, the Premier League is not easy. We’re going to work really hard to keep the ambition high.

“We have a good group, and a great coach, everyone knows him. I know I can pass this step with him. I know he will help me more to be what I want to be and try to help the team as well. I’m very happy to play with him.

“It’s my dream, to play Champions League. I remember when I was younger, I watched the Champions League every day.... added the Mali international.

"I can’t believe (I’m going) to play Champions League with Spurs. I’m so happy, I just want to say thank you my mum, my dad and my agent here, thank you everyone, thank you to Spurs as well.”

With the new additional signing, Antonio Conte is getting fully prepared for the new season, most especially for Champions League football.

Spurs will start their 2022/23 Premier League campaign at home to Southampton on August 6 followed by a trip to London rivals Chelsea on August 13.
