Chelsea Set To Agree Terms On Nathan Ake Transfer

 Pre-season games are quickly approaching, and Chelsea's summer transfer market is getting hotter. Despite the Blues being one of only two teams that have not yet signed anyone, Thomas Tuchel is anticipated to be one of the busier coaches during this time.

That appears to be about to change, as sources close to Chelsea have learned that the Blues and Manchester City have come to terms on a deal for Raheem Sterling. Personal conditions were agreed upon and include a five-year deal with an additional year's option, with the transfer cost potentially reaching £50 million.

While that resolves a problem on the front line, other problems still need to be resolved. Most significantly, Tuchel is short on defenders after losing both Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger to free agency.

Numerous possibilities are still connected to the Blues, but one of them might make an improbable comeback. According to sources close to the player, Nathan Ake's personal conditions have already been agreed upon, and Chelsea and Manchester City are in advanced negotiations over a transfer.

After moving from Feyenoord, the 27-year-old spent six years at Stamford Bridge, rising through the ranks of the academy. After that, he spent time on three loans before deciding to join Bournemouth permanently in 2017.

But it appears that Tuchel would have to meet Pep Guardiola's new asking price if he wants to make the homecoming official. Fabrizio Romano estimates that it would cost about £41 million to sign the Dutch international.

The Blues may or may not be willing to match that asking price, but if they are unable to, there are many other choices.
