Cyriel Dessers Set To Depart Genk Ahead Of A Move To Newly Promoted Serie A Side Cremonese.
Super Eagles forward Cyriel Dessers is about to conclude a transfer from his current club Genk to Cremonese of Serie A.
According to the sources, negotiations are going well between the two parties, and Dessers recently traveled to Italy with his agents in order to consider playing in the Serie A.
Dessers, who spent the previous season on loan at Feyenoord, made history when he became the first Nigerian player to win the top scorer award in a European tournament. He finished the inaugural UEFA Europa Conference League with ten goals in thirteen appearances, winning the Golden Boot despite Roma's loss to Jose Mourinho's team.
The 27-year-old had a remarkable season while on loan at Feyenoord, making 41 appearances across all competitions and scoring 20 goals.
The Rotterdam club did not exercise the buy option provision in his contract, though.
Dessers joined the Super Eagles on their tour of the United States, but he didn't play in either of their two qualifier games for the African Cup of Nations against Sao Tome & Principe and Sierra Leone.
