Haaland was formerly rumored to be moving to Old Trafford, but his father, Alf-Inge, was a City player in the early 2000s, and he admitted to collecting Sergio Aguero t-shirts, saying the club's all-time leading scorer is an inspiration to him.

The Norwegian attacker spoke of the Champions League quarterfinal matchup with Dortmund versus Pep Guardiola's team as the reason for joining City.

"When you meet something in person, it's radically different from what you saw on television", he claimed. "I had a sense of that. I suddenly went for 25 minutes during the game without touching the ball. I pleaded with [Ilkay] Gundogan to stop playing tiki-taka nonstop."

"I must say, it's on a new level. How they play, how they approach the game, and how they create opportunities. I want to participate in that.

"In the end, I was just left with a stomach ache. I just had a sense for City because of the way they play, the feeling, and everything else.

Haaland downplayed the expectation on him to assist City win their first Champions League trophy and defend the Premier League.

"As a striker, I want to enjoy myself. I get goals when I'm having a good time. I laugh, I love to play football, and anything else. I just want to grin a lot in the end," he remarked.

"A new league, new coach, new everything is a big challenge. A new country is another. But I am aware of what it's like to join a new club. I've done it before a few of times. I am therefore eagerly anticipating it."

Haaland was introduced alongside Kalvin Phillips, Julian Alvarez, Stefan Ortega Moreno, and Haaland, but due to illness, the former Leeds midfielder was unable to be present.

Alvarez, who cost River Plate €17 million, said his desire to follow players like Sergio Aguero, Pablo Zabaleta, Carlos Tevez, and Nicolas Otamendi in his nation.

"Manchester City has a long history with Argentinean players before I came here to create my own history, to achieve the pinnacle, and to continue my own journey," he stated.

I want to win trophies, including the Premier League, the Champions League, and all other trophies that are available. I play a lot and contribute with my game."

Visiting on a free transfer from Arminia Bielefeld, backup goalkeeper Ortega Moreno remarked, "I see a tremendous possibility here for me to accumulate new experiences. This year is a pretty significant opportunity for me to play for one of the top teams in the world because my old club isn't a big one in Germany. I'll make an effort to elevate Ederson's performance.
