OFFICIAL: Man United Confirms The Signing Of Christian Eriksen As A Free Agent.
Manchester United have confirmed the signing of Christian Eriksen as a free agent after leaving Brentford at the end of last season.
Having reached a verbal agreement for a transfer over a week ago. Eriksen signed a three-year contract which will keep him at Old Trafford until June 2025.
Eriksen has been on United’s radar all summer as Ten Hag looks to bolster his creativity in the centre of the pitch following the departure of Paul Pogba to Juventus.
The 30-year-old had to leave Inter Milan by mutual agreement since rules in the Serie A meant he could not play in that league anymore. He had to look for a new home and Brentford offered him the perfect opportunity.
The attacking midfielder has played 237 games in the Premier League, registering 52 goals and 71 assists. He created 30 chances in 11 games for Brentford last season.
Christian Eriksen on his move to the Red side of Manchester said: “Manchester United is a special club, and I cannot wait to get started. I have had the privilege of playing at Old Trafford many times but to do it in the red shirt of United will be an amazing feeling.”
Eriksen on Erik ten Hag: “I have seen Erik’s work at Ajax and know the level of detail and preparation that he and his staff put into every day. Having spoken with him and learned more about his vision and the way he wants the team to play, I am even more excited for the future.”
The former Ajax, Tottenham, Inter Milan and Brentford player, has been capped 115 times for Denmark, scoring 38 goals for his country.
