Bruno Fernandes Reveals What Happened In The Dressing Room Following Defeat To Derby Rivals.

 Following their devastating 6-3 loss to Manchester City on Sunday, Bruno Fernandes has acknowledged that Manchester United players are "disappointed." 

Their formidable opponents put the Red Devils to the sword, with Erling Haaland and Phil Foden both scoring hat-tricks for the home team. 

Erik ten Hag's side now appears less likely than ever to win the Premier League championship this year as a result of the outcome.

Prior to their encounter against City, Man United had been beginning to get some momentum after winning five of their previous six games overall.

But on Sunday, Pep Guardiola's team delivered the harshest reality check, outclassing the visitors in every way.

With Foden and Haaland both scoring a hat trick in the opening half hour, United trailed their rivals 4-0 at the break.

Even though Anthony Martial scored twice and Antony gave the Red Devils a brief lead back, goals from Foden and Haaland handed City the victory. 

Fernandes who was the teams captain of the day, acknowledged that he and his teammates were "disappointed" by the outcome in an interview with United's official website.

"The belief in the beginning was not the best and I think that caused us many problems and made us concede early goals,” he said

"I think the second half was much better. We kept control more, we controlled the game whenever we had the ball.

“We were down on the result, so we had to take some risks. And obviously, when we took that risk, we scored straight away.

“We tried to go forward a little bit more but then we conceded more goals. You can't give that much space to City.

"Obviously, we are really disappointed. But now it is time to focus on the next game and we have to get back the performances we did before the international break, and the belief and togetherness, and understand this cannot get us down.

“We must use pain of derby defeat to improve for the future."

Fortunately for United, their wait to return to a football pitch won't be too long.

The third Europa League match of the season will pit the Red Devils against Omonoia Nicosia in Cyprus on Thursday.

They will then play Everton at Goodison Park on Sunday.
