Real Madrid Reach A Record FIFTH Club World Cup Final And Would Face Al-Hilal.

Real Madrid are through to the Club World Cup final after cruising past Egyptian side Al Ahly 4-1 on Wednesday night in Morocco, courtesy of goals from Vinicius Junior, Federico Valverde, Rodrygo and Sergio Arribas.

Los Blancos, playing without several key starters, took a while to get going against the African champions Al Ahly well organised defence.

The European champions finally opened the scoring right before halftime (42 mins) with a close-range strike by Vinicius.

Madrid extended their lead a minute after the break when Valverde tapped into an empty net from a rebound.

The Spanish side appeared to be comfortable with the lead but Al Ahly received a lifeline when Eduardo Camavinga clumsy challenge on Hussein El Shahat inside the area in the 65th minute gifted the Egyptian team a penalty, as defender Ali Maaloul stepped up to convert from the spot, making it 2-1.

Los Blancos tried to kill the game and squandered a golden chance to do so when Luka Modric missed a penalty saved by El Shenawy three minutes from the end of the game.

Rodrygo and substitute Arribas completed a comfortable win with two stoppage time goals, first, Rodrygo applied a cool finish after a fine team move in 90+2 mins.

21-year-old Arribas, fired in a fourth with a low left-footed shot from inside the area after the ball broke to him from a free-kick in 90+8 mins to make it a 4-1 win for Carlo Ancelotti's side.

Real Madrid have reached a record fifth FIFA Club World Cup final in the last nine years. They were previously level with Barcelona with four final appearances.

Madrid will face Al-Hilal in the final in Rabat on Saturday, February 11 at 8pm (NGA). The Saudi Arabia's outfit, shocked South American champions Flamengo 3-2 in the first semifinal on Tuesday night.

Al Ahly plays Flamengo in the third place game early same day at 4:30pm.
