Vincent Kompany Is Wanted By Tottenham As Next Manager To Replace Conte After Guiding Burnley Back To Premier League.

Manager Vincent Kompany could be moving to a top club in the summer, as he has attracted the interest of Tottenham Hotspur.

Kompany recently led Burnley back to the Premier League from the Championship in record time (seven games to spare) amid financial issues.

The 37-year-old Belgian was able to completely overhaul the club both on and off the pitch, making them the most entertaining side after putting almost a whole new squad together, with some fans hailing Clarets as the best team ever to play in the Championship.

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is been impressed with how Kompany has dominated in the Championship so far, and now making him his top managerial target

Kompany is increasingly seen as the manager who can give the North London club a new dimension.

Following the transformation of bitter rivals Arsenal into Premier League title contenders by Mikel Arteta who spent three years working as Pep Guardiola’s No 2 at City, Spurs are willingly to try out Kompany who also spent the same amount of time as captain winning two of his four Premier League crowns under Guadiola, before becoming Anderlecht manager in 2019. He has widely been tipped as a future Etihad boss.

Levy reportedly does not want to delay the recruitment process as he wants to avoid a similar situation that befell them in the 2021-22 season when they had to settle with Nuno Espirito Santo after Jose Mourinho departed the club.

However, The Sun reports that Burnley may have a fight on their hands to hold onto the former Manchester City's legend. They are willing to offer the Belgian a new deal.

Kompany is believed to be ready to listen if Spurs make a move as he fears the Clarets may not have the enough funds to compete in the Premier League next season.

Tottenham had sacked manager Antonio Conte in March after weeks of uncertainty. The 53-year-old launched an astonishing attack on his ‘selfish’ Spurs team and board after the 3-3 draw at Southampton.

The Italian assistant Cristian Stellini was made the acting head coach at the club, with former Premier League midfielder Ryan Mason the assistant head coach, as the pair look to rejuvenate an inconsistent Spurs team for the remainder of the season.

They are three points behind Newcastle and Man United having played a game more, and would hope to finish in the top four and secure a Champions League spot for next season.

Several other names including Julian Nagelsmann, Luis Enrique, Brendan Rodgers, former boss Mauricio Pochettino, and Sporting's Ruben Amorim have all been speculated to become the next permanent Tottenham boss.

Tottenham next return to action against Bournemouth on Saturday to keep their top-four hopes alive. Meanwhile, Burnely will take on Reading on the same day in a Championship fixture.
