Arsenal GoalKeeper Aaron Ramsdale Signs A New Long-Term Deal With The Club.

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale has signed a new long-term deal.

The England international's new contract runs until 2028, with the option of a further year.

He had two years remaining on his current deal but the goalkeeper has been handed new terms after a standout season for Mikel Arteta's side.

Ramsdale has made 76 appearances for Arsenal in all competitions since joining from Sheffield United for a reported £30million two years ago (August 2021), establishing himself as the Gunners' No 1 'keeper.

He claimed the Premier League Save of the Month title for his incredible stop against Mohamed Salah against Liverpool at Anfield in April.

In 36 Premier League appearances for the North Londoners this term, Ramsdale has kept 13 clean sheets, only David de Gea (16) and Alisson (14) have recorded more.

His performances at the Emirates have earned the former Bournemouth stopper three caps for the Three Lions, keeping clean sheets against San Marino and Italy.

"There's a family feel to the football club," said Ramsdale in a message to the Arsenal fans after signing his contract. "I can't imagine anywhere else for my home stadium to be, or my home.

"I feel honoured that you guys have welcomed me in and I feel honoured that the staff want me to stay. So it was the easiest decision in the world for me to commit my future to the Arsenal.

"It doesn't matter if you've been at the club for a month or for four years, you always want to get the next [contract] and push on with the team.

"To get it after two years, I'm buzzing. It just means I can concentrate and keep my head down and hopefully after a few more years I'll get another one and carry on living the dream at the football club.

"So let's keep moving forward as a club and make more special memories."

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta added: "We're all so happy that Aaron has signed a new contract. The way Aaron has developed over the past two years has been exceptional, with his performances, contribution and overall adaptation to the club.

"It's great that we're continuing to build our future with our biggest talents in our young squad. We're all looking forward to enjoying many more years of Aaron the player and the person at the football club."
