OFFICIAL: ERLING Haaland and UNAI Emery Wins The Premier League Player and Manager of the Month for April.

Erling Haaland and Unai Emery has won the April’s Player and Manager of the Month awards.

Following a historic month for Manchester City Haaland wins the award after scoring six goals and two assists in only four April appearances, helping Man City move to one point ahead of Arsenal in the title race with a game on hand.

The award is won after the public's votes on the EA SPORTS website are combined with those of a panel of football experts.

The Norwegian scored in every match he played in, braces against Southampton and Leicester, before also netting against Fulham and title contenders Arsenal.

His goal against Fulham moved him level on the Premier League's single season scoring record of 34, tied with Alan Shearer and Andy Cole.

It is a feat he has since surpassed after netting in the 3-0 victory over West Ham last week.

He also became the first player since Tom Waring in 1931 to score 50 goals across all competitions in a season.

This would be the second time that Haaland would be winning the award in his debut season, having first won it in August 2022.

The 22-year-old claims the prize ahead of an eight-man shortlist also including teammate Kevin De Bruyne, Eberechi Eze, Alexander Isak, Diogo Jota, Dominic Solanke, Ollie Watkins and Callum Wilson.

On the other hand, Unai Emery has been named the  Manager of the Month for April, winning the award for the first time, after he failed to win it during his time with Arsenal.

Emery who replaced Steven Gerrard in November has continued his transformation of a struggling Aston Villa side he inherited, helping them into the top six in April, winning five of seven matches to boost their European hopes.

He oversaw a 2-0 victory at Chelsea to begin the month before masterminding a 3-0 home win over Newcastle United as Villa continue to dream of European qualification for next season.

The 51-year-old beat fellow nominees Pep Guardiola, Roy Hodgson, Eddie Howe and Gary O'Neil after votes from the public were combined with those of a panel of football experts.

The Spaniard is the first Aston Villa head coach to win the award since Dean Smith in December 2020, while it is Villa's first Premier League monthly award of any kind since Danny Ings won August 2021's Goal of the Month.
