"We Can Still Win The Premier League Title"... Says Erling Haaland Despite Man City's Goalless Draw Against Arsenal.

Manchester City's title challenge hits a stumbling block in their home stadium as they played a goalless draw against Arsenal in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The game at the Etihad was a chess match between two managers who know each other very well – Mikel Arteta and Pep Guardiola.

Both sides tried to cancel each other out at different areas of the pitch, and annoyingly for the neutral, it worked and the game ended 0-0.

Man City had scored in every single game at the Etihad and were looking to do so again but they were unable to break down the Gunners solid defence, which prevented Guardiola's side the win, as well as Erling Haaland a goal.

Although the Norwegian did not have as many chances as in previous matches, in which he was criticised for his poor finishing, the City’s number ‘9′ was also unable to avoid criticism after his third consecutive game without a goal for the treble holders, the fifth if one counts both matches with the national team across the past FIFA break. 

Haaland scored in both legs of this fixture last season, but only one featured Saliba in the Gunners' defence.

The three meetings this year have seen Haaland fail to stand out, and last year's PFA winner has failed to register a shot in the last two.

Haaland who is undoubtedly the best striker in the Premier League and perhaps even in the world., has scored 29 goals and provided six assists in 35 games this season, which is a phenomenal return.

However, against William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes yesterday, Haaland struggled and had zero shots on target which made Roy Keane even compared him to a League Two striker.

Haaland and Gabriel were involved in a superb battle for dominance during the clash. 

The tensed battle between both players was particularly interesting, especially in the final stages, with Haaland feeling as though he had been fouled in the penalty area. However, referee Anthony Taylor dismissed those cries with Gabriel not mincing his feelings as he shouted at Haaland in the wake of the incident.

The two smiling antagonists were seen at full-time passionately exchanging words, before exchanging an embrace that looked awkwardly staged for the cameras. 

Declan Rice and Pep Guardiola were also involved in the discussion with the Man City boss pushing away his talisman. However the cameras caught the final words exchanged between Gabriel and Haaland as the latter simply said, "good game" while hugging the Brazilian.

Despite Gabriel impressive performance, it was his centre-back partner Saliba, that stood out as he was named player of the match. However, in his post-match interview, Saliba was keen to praise Gabriel and his teammates for their work ethic in the clash.

The 0-0 draw means that the Premier League title race is still wide open, but seeing Man City in third at this stage of the season is a bit strange.

Liverpool ended the weekend as league leaders after coming from behind to win Brighton 2-1 at Anfield earlier in the day. The Reds are two points ahead of second placed Arsenal and three ahead of third placed City.

Jurgen Klopp’s side have a better goal difference as well, coupled with a really favourable fixture list too, which makes them the favourites to win the Premier League title this season.

However, Haaland who seems to be not giving up yet, took to his Instagram page after the game to confidently claim that his team can come from behind to win the title, just like they did last season.

“We’ve done it once, we can do it again,” the former Borussia Dortmund striker wrote.
