“Look for a New Club” – Man United Boss Ruben Amorim Tells Garnacho After His Comment Following Their Europa League Final 1-0 Defeat To Tottenham.

Manchester United head coach, Ruben Amorim, has told Alejandro Garnacho to find a new club as he is not part of plans for the 2025/26 season.

The United boss said the club has started a summer rebuild, as he plans for next season without Champions League football and European competition.

He stated that several players are set to leave the club in the coming weeks warning the Old Trafford faithful that the club's problems won't be solved by one transfer window.

The Portuguese manager reportedly stressed he will remain in charge of the club next season, despite suggesting he would leave if the hierarchy decide he is not the right man for the job.

According to The Athletic, Amorim has told Alejandro Garnacho, who has a contract with the Red Devils until June 2028, to look for a new club this summer after the winger publicly criticised him for not starting the Europa League final. 

The 20-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided 10 assists in 58 appearances for United this season.

However, he was left on the bench for the Europa League final against Tottenham Hotspur in Bilbao on Wednesday night which they lost 1-0.

Despite a shallow attacking display by the Red Devils on the night, the young Argentinian wasn't called until thel 70th minute.

“I played every round to help the team reach the final, and today I only got 20 minutes,” the Argentine told the media after the game, as per AlbicelesteTalk.

Garnacho had earlier hinted that he too disagreed with Amorim's decision just hours before the final.

The forward had posted a memory of him scoring in the Red Devils' FA Cup final triumph over Manchester City last season, back when Erik ten Hag was manager. 

On his own future, Garnacho added: “I don't know. I will try to enjoy the summer and then see what happens.”

Amorim then aimed a dig at Garnacho during his post-match press conference when asked why he didn't start the forward.

“It’s easy to say that now. Who missed the big opportunity in the first half in the semi-final? Garnacho. Football is like that,” he told reporters.

After the match, Garnacho’s brother and agent Roberto Garnacho caused a stir by taking to social media to question Amorim’s decision.

“Working as no one else, helping every round, coming from two goals in the last two finals, just to be on the pitch for 19 mins and get thrown under the bus. Wowe hahahahahaha,” Roberto Garnacho wrote on Instagram.

Reports has it that Garnacho and his younger brother have a history of posting petulant remarks and messages on social media when the Argentine is out of favour with the manager.

Garnacho who is viewed as one of the most exciting young players in United’s squad has been criticised a lot this season.

With plenty of interest from Premier League, La Liga and Saudi Arabian clubs, Garnacho himself is reportedly targeting a move to Real Madrid.

Securing around £60 million for him would bolster the club’s abilities to sign more players to reinforce the squad in the summer.

Matheus Cunha is already expected to join to become the first-choice player in the left-sided no.10 spot where Garnacho has often played, but he is not seen as a perfect replacement for the Argentine.

Man United’s season effectively ended after their Europa League final defeat in Bilbao, with only a near-meaningless game against Aston Villa on Sunday remaining this season.
