World Number One Naomi Osaka dumps Adidas to sign a new deal for Nike

The 21 years old  professional Tennis player who represents Japan, Naomi Osaka, and current World No 1 as ranked by the Women's Tennis Association (WTA), has joined Nike's elite roster of professional athletes.

The two time Grand slam winner Naomi Osaka, born 16th October 1997 to a Haitian Father and a Japanese Mother, She is the first Asian player to hold top rankings in singles,she has won three titles and reached five finals on the WTA tour, came to limelight into the world of professional women's tennis players in September 2018,and became the first Japanese player to win a Gland Slam singles tournament, when she won the 138th edition of the US Open, defeating 23-time champion Serena Williams in straights sets, 6-2, 6-4 in one hour and 19 minutes at the final. She also won her second Gland Slam title at the Australian Open in 2019, where she defeated Czech professional tennis player Petra Kvitova 7-6, 5-7, 6-4 in the final.

Naomi Osaka gets welcomed into the Nike family by American professional basketball players Kevin Durant and Lebron James at the Lakers-Warriors game, As she joins the likes of Serena Williams, Sloane Stephens to wear the Nike outfit/apparel.

Naomi  Osaka deal begins this week. She will begin donning Nike apparel at the WTA event in Stuttgart, beginning April 22.
