Quique Setien Officially Unvieled As New Barcelona Manager.

Quique Setién's has officially been unveiled today as the new Barcelona manager with director of football Eric Abidal and club president Josep Maria Bartomeu in attendance...

The 61-year-old who was the only manager to defeat Ernesto Valverde at the Camp Nou in the La Liga, with former club Real Betis, signed a two and a half year contract with Barcelona, which will keep him at the club till 2022.

Setién speaking on his appiontment as the new manager says;

"I want to thank this instituation for giving me the chance. Not even in my wildest dreams could I have imagined this. I have to thank the club. I'm excited about this challenge and this project."

"Yesterday, I was walking around my hometown with cows around me and now I'm here at Barcelona managing the best players in the world."

"My objective is to win everything there is to win. This team doesn't have another way other to follow, than improving themselves and winning as many trophies as possible year after year. The road to victory is always through good football"... He continued

"In these times when people tell you that you have to run, to work, to fight and to compete, I ask my players to THINK"

"That is the biggest thing I have to transmit to the players. I have to show the players that and normally it's not very complicated for me to transmit that."

"I think the best way to victory is by playing good football. It doesn't always happen but it's not just about one day, it's about keeping it going."

 "Thanks to Ernesto Valverde for leaving me with a side that is top of the league at the moment and also in the knock-out stage of the Champions League."

 "Ernesto Valverde has been spoken to and we said things had to be improved. He knew this, it's easy to speak with him, he's a very easy person to speak to and he is very smart. I wish it would have happened in a different way." 
"I wished the change of coach had happened differently and says Valverde had numerous warnings, and after trying to find a solution, we decided that the team needed a boost with a new coach".
