Juventus Part Ways With Midfielder, Aaron Ramsey On Mutual Terms

Juventus announced that Aaron Ramsey's contract had been "mutually terminated," and the Welsh midfielder has since left the Serie A team.

The 31-year-old was dropped from Juventus' preseason squad last week for their trip to the United States.

Ramsey, an ex-Arsenal player who joined the Italians in 2019, reportedly earned £400,000 per week.

Ramsey, however, spent the second half of the 2021–22 season on loan at Rangers in Scotland.

He was in the final year of his lucrative contract with Juve, but he is now free to sign with any club he chooses as he seeks match practice ahead of Wales' World Cup campaign in Qatar in November.

Ramsey only made five appearances for Juventus last season and has been linked with a return to his old team Cardiff City, but any team interested in signing him will likely have financial concerns due to his wages.

Given he has suffered numerous injury problems over the past few seasons, that could also prove a stumbling block in any negotiations.

He was omitted from Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri's pre-season travelling party along with Federico Chiesa, Mattia de Sciglio, Kaio Jorge, Arthur Melo, Marko Pjaca and Adrien Rabiot.

Ramsey was already without a squad number this season, having previously had the number eight shirt, and it was clear he was no longer a part of Allegri's plans.
