Man United Finally Reach Agreement Over Antony Transfer

Manchester United and Ajax have reached an agreement on a transfer fee for 22-year-old Brazilian attacker Antony.

United have reportedly agreed to pay a fixed cost of 95 million euros (£80.6 million), with a further five million euros (£4.2 million) in prospective add-ons, according to the PA news agency.

Antony is set to join defender Lisandro Martinez as the second player to follow manager Erik ten Hag from the Dutch champions to Old Trafford.

Ajax is now poised to get an even larger windfall after United initially paid 57.37 million euros (£48.3 million) for the Argentina international, a sum that might increase by an additional 10 million euros to about £56.7 million.

 United reportedly had a smaller offer turned down last week, but they have since made progress in acquiring a player whose irritation at the earlier deadlock was made obvious in an interview on Friday. Accordingto Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano on YouTube, Antony said, "Since February of this year, my agents came to Amsterdam to advise Ajax of my wish to leave the club to confront a new challenge and that some interested clubs would arrive and, with them, undoubtedly a fantastic offer."
